Winter feels like a time when there aren’t any good finds at the farmers’ market. I mean, what could possibly be growing during the latest polar vortex? But nothing could be farther from the truth!
There are tons of options at the Yardley Farmers’ Market (YFM), and because there may be fewer people shopping, you can really chat up the vendors and get some yummy recipe ideas! Here’s what you can expect to see from some of our vendors at the YFM over the next few months (for a list of all winter market vendors, check out our website):
Abe’s Acres
A variety of tomato sauces (made from fresh summer tomatoes!), different salsas, hot sauces, pickles, grass-fed meats and Cherry Grove Farm grass-fed cheeses
Keystone Colonies
Raw, local honey and honey products
Liberty City Roasters
Craft roasted coffee, carefully selected and sold whole bean or ground to order. Fresh brewed coffee to enjoy while you shop.
Luhv Foods
Vegan, gluten free delishious black bean poblano burgers, energy soup, veggie chili and moe.
Mainly Mushrooms
An average of 15 different types of wild and exotic fresh and dried mushrooms (and some only available this time of the year!)
Mecha Artisan Chocolate
Mecha seek out the finest ingredients for their ganaches, caramels, chcolate barks and other delightful chocolates.
Mediterra
A variety of Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Aged Balsamic Vinegars, 100% Pure Argan oil, and olive wood accessories
Noah’s Dove Farm
A variety of microgreens, including microgreen medleys, microgreen radishes, sunflower shoots, and basil plants
Passionately Natural Soap Co.
All natural bath and beauty products to moisturize and nourish your skin in during the cold, winter weather: body butter, goat milk soaps, oatmeal soaps, lip balm, bath bombs, sugar scrub (to exfoliate and soften skin), shaving soaps, and beard oil.
Right Eats
Pickled and fermented veggies, kimchi, and a variety of jams all made using produce from summer and fall harvests from YFM vendors; soups, salads, entrees and side dishes using produce from local farmers and vendors; and Kombucha (of course!)
Snipes Farm
A variety of greens (spinach, arugula and salad greens), farm fresh eggs, and Mighty Cider – a tonic made from farm pressed raw apple cider vinegar with some extra spices that will give your immune system a major kick!
Wild Flour Bakery
A wide variety of sandwich breads, rolls baquettes, flatbreads, sweet breads and famous for their Challah rolls
